LSD and the Search for God

Almost nine years to the day since the release of their first, self-titled EP, LSD and the Search for God dose us once again with their blissful new EP, Heaven Is a Place—out January 15, 2016, on Deep Space Recordings and Mind Expansion!

In the time between LSD records the band remained busy writing, recording, and performing, with this EP capturing a snapshot in time soon after the additions of Ryan Lescure and Ricky Maymi (Brian Jonestown Massacre). They've been perfecting their lucid live show up and down the U.S. West Coast and on tours across the U.S. and Canada, including sets at Austin Psych Fest Levitation (2013), Bathysphere (2013) with A Place To Bury Strangers, and Desert Stars Festival (2014) with The Dandy Warhols.

LSD twice toured the U.S. with legendary Creation Records band The Telescopes, with Liszt, Fifield, and Maymi doing double-duty each night, performing as members of both LSD and The Telescopes. This collaboration led to The Telescopes’ recording project in Los Angeles that resulted in two records: the acclaimed EP, Harm (Neon Sigh 2014), and a 7” single, Thrown (Genjing Records 2015).

Over the years, LSD and the Search for God’s cult-like following within the underground psych/space/shoegaze community has remained as passionate as ever, and this new EP picks up where they last left off—then blasts off for parts unknown.

“Heaven,” “(I Don't Think That We Should) Take It Slow,” and “Elizabeth” showcase the band at their best—swirling, reverb-drenched guitar chords, intertwined with shimmering male/female vocals—while “Outer Space” and “Without You” slow it down a bit and throw hazy, psychedelic guitar riffs into the mix. The obvious comparison to the Creation Records sound in its heyday is appropriate, yet LSD have definitely taken that noise and made it all their own.

On the heels of releasing Heaven Is a Place, the trip continues. In addition to more shows across the U.S. and Canada, LSD makes their European debut on a month-long tour in spring 2016, starting with the Cosmosis Festival in Manchester alongside The Jesus and Mary Chain, Wire, and The Raveonettes.

Make no mistake: LSD and the Search for God are here—now more than ever—and they're ready to solidify their rightful place as the sonic harbingers of blissed-out rock 'n’ roll!

Jesus Sons
Jesus Sons
Jesus Sons are a quintet from Los Angeles, CA. Coming from the city of angels they have developed their own sound while capturing the esthetic feel of Los Angeles bands of the past. With sounds similar to the urban mayhem of The Velvet Underground to the relaxed spacious skies groove of New Riders Of The Purple Sage they bring one hell of a party to their live shows. They will be on tour for their third full length album "Easy" this summer.
Dream Phases
Dream Phases
Dream Phases is the new project of Brandon Graham. Over the past several years Brandon has toured, recorded, or played with a long list of bands, including the Relationship (Brian Bell of Weezer), Blank Tapes, Nacosta, and Korey Dane. Dream Phases draws from both classic 60s/70s Rock, country and soul as well as current noise pop.

The seeds of Dream Phases came from Brandon's home recordings. Between tours he recorded as often as possible and over the course of a year wrote and recorded 16 songs. Inspired by the music of Syd Barrett, Skip Spence, Sebadoh and Elliott Smith, Brandon wanted to create a sound that was identifiable to one person. After amassing a large collection of demo's he began sharing them with some of his favorite local musicians and from there put together a band, including his brother Shane on drums, that began playing around Los Angeles.

Following their January residency at Harvard & Stone, Dream Phases will release their debut ep in March on Lolipop Records. The band is currently recording with producer Jason Quever (Papercuts, Beach House, Cass McCombs) at his Palmetto Studios. They are an official band at this years Sxsw in March and will be touring the US in July and August.
Family of Light Band
Family of Light Band
Family of Light Band is a six piece psychedelic rock group from southern California. They are part of the rapidly growing under ground scene that is creating a modern twist to the psychedelic music of the 60's.
The music is brimming with alluring vocal harmonies, experimental blues driven guitar bends, electrifying ambient noise that's mixed with fascinating flute and saxophone solo's. it is all backed by segments of raw pulsating Latin percussion that will make you feel part of a drum circle on the sand of Venice beach.
Creatures Choir
Creatures Choir
Formed in 2013 by Rory Blackwater and Brad Hemenover, Creatures Choir is the culmination of their influences through the kaleidoscopic eyes of a dirty desert drifter. Melding Middle Eastern and Latin rhythms with true rock n roll spirit, they set out to make their own message in the Psychedelia realm. Consisting of six members, Rory Blackwater (Lead Guitar & Vox), Adam Ditt (bass), Nate Murray (Lead & Rhythm Guitar), Elijah Peters (Harmonica & Violin), Matt Bryan (Keyboards) and Brad Hemenover (Drums), they have been described as this generations psychotic circus crew with instruments. Their 3rd album Ancestors, which is set to be released in May of 2017, will be the next jumping point as they continue their saga of Ballroom Psychedelia and Rock'n'Roll infused freak outs.
