Black Rock Coalition's Get Down Review
Black Rock Coalition's Get Down Review
The mighty, rhythm, blues & soul coalition celebrates artists such as Ruth Brown, Aretha Franklin, and Ray Charles of the 1947-1974 Atlantic Records box set recordings. Launching a certified dance party will be Luqman Brown (musical director & emcee), Shelly Nicole (vocals), V. Jeffrey Smith (sax), Lewis ‘Flip’ Barnes (trumpet), Ben Tyree (guitar), Leon Gruenbaum (keys), Greg Gonzalez (drums), and Jared Michael Nickerson (bass). After intermission, the Burnt Sugar Arkestra, with BRC co-founder & iconic Village Voice writer Greg Tate on board, brings you up and through 1999 with their "caramelized" tribute to the late, beloved Prince!
