Lime Cordiale
Lime Cordiale
Lime Cordiale are a Sydney based quartet who grew out of the Northern Beaches music scene. Consisting of brothers Oli Leimbach (guitar/clarinet/vocals) and Louis Leimbach (bass/trumpet/vocals), Brendan Champion (trombone) and James Jennings (drums), the group came about after the boys recognised their mutual love of all things pop and their desire to create original and exciting music. Drawing from their classically trained background and experiences from their awkward teenage years, Lime Cordiale strives to create strong pop music with a fresh sound.

The new EP Faceless Cat features all new tracks including the new single Pretty Girl, and will be officially launched on Saturday 7 July at The Standard in Sydney. Renowned around Sydney’s gig scene for their appropriation of varied pop styles and their infectious energy, this show is sure to lift the roof!

At first the music seems to span a wide range of genres from pop, ska, jazz and funk, but it soon becomes apparent that Lime Cordiale has created a distinct sound and strong style that belongs to this band alone.

After spotting them at a band competition, Icehouse frontman, Iva Davies, saw something special and promptly made contact. The mentoring partnership flourished, with Iva and the band heading to the studio to produce some of the tracks. Lime Cordiale have also hit the road with Icehouse, supporting the iconic Australian band on their comeback tour of 2011.

Matilda Brown, daughter of veteran Australian actors Bryan Brown and Rachel Ward, has also turned her attention to the talented quartet, forging a creative partnership with the band directing the film clip for the first single Say It (starring Bryan Brown) and then going on to work on their latest single Pretty Girl.

In 2011, Lime Cordiale played over 60 live shows, released 3 singles, 2 music videos, were nominated for ‘Best Song’ at the 2011 SMAC Awards, won The Landsdowne Band Competition, reached #1 on the Triple J Unearthed Charts and were Radar Radio’s Unsigned find of the month. It’s safe to say that 2012 is going to bring even more with it.
Monks Of Mellonwah
Monks Of Mellonwah
Monks of Mellonwah (MOM) are an award winning four-piece alternative rock and indie band based in Sydney, Australia. The band has toured nationally and internationally, travelling to the United States twice, winning awards for Best International Act (LA Music Awards 2012) and Best Indie Rock Band (2012 AIM Awards).
MOM has been described as the 'birth child' of bands such as Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin (Middle Tennessee Music 2013). Their sound is something of an amalgamation of the psychedelic sounds of the 70's, the searing alternative rock sounds of the 90's and the epic, emotive feelings of film inspired music. Their three EP's and subsequent music videos gained them worldwide critical acclaim, airplay on MTV networks and extensive radio play that has lead to a number of syncs to popular TV shows including MTV’s The Real World.
MOM have received international and national radio play, College Radio in the US and Canada, hundreds of reviews and features worldwide, including coverage on MTV, Big Takeover Magazine, CMJ, Kings of A&R, Huffington Post, Absolute Punk and Passport Approved. Media attention has earned them licensing spots and syncs through a number of production companies in the US and Germany including Discovery Networks and Bunim Murray whilst their video "Neverending Spirit" also received high profile exposure in the US including MTV Networks.
Since the highly successful release of their experimental trilogy “Sky And The Dark Night” in March 2013, which grabbed the attention and imagination of international magazines, music blogs and community radio, resulting in high praise and 8 min long full trilogy spins on radio, MOM are currently working with A&R Worldwide (Muse, Coldplay, The Temper Trap) with the release of their debut album ‘Turn The People’. Turn The People is being released in 3 parts starting with volume 1 ‘Ghost Stories’ (released on June 28th 2013), Volume 2 ‘Afraid To Die’ set for release on October 4th and the final installment volume 3 hitting stores late December.
Hamish Anderson
Hamish Anderson
Though just 22 years of age, singer/songwriter/guitarist Hamish Anderson has been making waves in his native Australia since 2009. He is recognized for an impressive live show that encompasses a mix of blues, rock and folk with moments of loud, electric blues-soaked songs as well as delicate acoustic balladry (Beat Magazine raves, “With Hendrix-inspired guitar riffs and extended solos, Anderson tore up the stage, simultaneously reviving and reinventing the blues,” while Inpress Magazine notes, “He’s a talent that provides an exhibition that is addictive to watch, and gives total bang for your buck if you get the chance to witness it”). He’s also recorded with an impressive cast of accompanying musicians, including Wallflowers founding keyboardist Rami Jaffee and bassist Rob Calder (Kanye West). Since 2010 Hamish has released a trio of tunes on Triple J’s Unearthed platform: “Winter,” “Comes a Day” and “Nobody,” all of which charted within the rock/pop charts, peaking at No.1, No.2 and No.5, respectively. After topping the Triple J Unearthed charts, Hamish recorded a five-track EP in BJB Studio with American producer Eric J. Dubowsky (Art vs. Science, Weezer). The EP was engineered by Jean-Paul Fung (Birds of Tokyo, Silverchair) and mastered by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Dr John, The Shins).
Giorgi + Leo
Giorgi + Leo
Every so often a magical musical chemistry is made by two great talents who encounter each other on the journey of life. While Giorgi + Leo hail from different sides of the world, when they come together they form a partnership that is unique. You only have to hear them once to know something special is happening in both the music and the partnership of the pair. Leo recently produced a cover of the Prince smash “When Doves Cry” that has all the elements of a hit; when former Prince guitarist Quinton Dean heard the track, he exclaimed, “I am really digging what these guys are dong on this” – and when he was subsequently asked to provide some guitar for the song, he agreed without hesitation. This past December, at the invitation of IMG and L’Oreal, Giorgi + Leo performed at the tenth anniversary of the prestigious “Fashion Fringe,” joining such past performers as Bastille and Eliza Doolittle at the London event. Following a three-month stint in London, they returned to Los Angeles in early 2014 to apply the finishing touches to forthcoming album Remember When, which has been described as “fashion for your ears.”
