Red Ride Tour
Mix of musical genres hit the road for the fifth incarnation of the Red Ride Tour. Ride Tour is a collective of Aboriginal musicians whose goal is to showcase the diverse talent of artists across North America in what is described as an eclectic community of culture.
Silver Jackson
Silver Jackson
Silver Jackson is the musical alias of multi-talented Tlingit/Aleut artist Nicholas Galanin. Starry Skies Opened Eyes, Jackson’s second album, is an effortless evolution of his style and aesthetic, where electronic-inflected, acoustic folk experiments abound with clever melodic turns and spiralling harmonies, fading and swimming through percussive clicks, crackles, and looping rhythms. Recorded over a three year period that saw Jackson narrowly escape death in a hunting accident, the album traces his path to newfound perspectives “on life through love and gratitude...friends and family”. Starry Skies Opened Eyes is a record of resonance, transformation and re-emergence—of Jackson “losing [himself] in the blackness between light”, drifting through dark horizons, reflecting the sky. This introspective illumination unfolds in a dream-like flow of cosmia, echoing out over the album’s 11 tracks.

Jackson traverses the shifting sonics of this polyvocal landscape with melodic dialogue textured by a host of collaborators, including Samantha Crain, OCnotes, Benjamin Verdoes, Jesse Hughey, Erik Blood, and Catherine Harris-White. It is the sound of a future-now, where Indigenous presence is an act of creation, continually being renewed.
Kristi Lane Sinclair
Kristi Lane Sinclair
Fierce and feisty, Haida/Cree singer-songwriter Kristi Lane Sinclair is emblematic of a new wave of Canadian aboriginal artists who are turning perceptions upside down. Raised in British Columbia’s backwaters, and drawing more from a DIY/indie esthetic than traditional or mainstream music, Sinclair’s musical roots create a darkly intoxicating mix of grunge, folk and classical. Her ‘smoky folk’ is rich and orchestral, underpinned with alternately snarling guitars and warm strings. Through the richly unpredictable mélange her hoarse, blade-edged voice and serrated wordplay weave smoke around irreconcilable longings, great love and the sea. With her new album, “Dark Matter” on the cusp of being released this spring, 2015 holds many fortunes for Sinclair. Coinciding with the release of her third album, produced by Derek Miller, a 6 part documentary series to be aired in Canada following Kristi’s journey and she releases and tours “Dark Matter”.
Erik Blood
Erik Blood
Erik Blood is a Seattle-based producer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer/songwriter. His production work and collaborations with some of the Northwest’s favorite artists (TheeSatisfaction, Shabazz Palaces, Moondoggies, The Lights, The Turn-Ons among others) have garnered praise from music journalists and fans alike.

In May 2009, Erik Blood released his first solo album “The Way We Live”. The album debuted at number one on KEXP’s variety chart and was hailed by The Stranger upon it’s release: “Crafted with care and expertly produced, The Way We Live seems destined to attain pop-classic status.”

Erik next released "Music From the Center of Gravity" - a full-length film soundtrack, his first. Mixing dreamy ambient soundscapes, textured synths, and anchored by three lush pop songs - the score serves as the backdrop to the moody Sao Paolo set film "Centro de Gravidade". Directed by Steven Richter, the film premiered at the Sao Paulo Film Festival in Fall 2011.

After a busy period of producing, mixing, and engineering a variety of projects for artists like Crypts and Stephanie, Erik returned with his second LP "Touch Screens" in 2012. The twelve tracks of "Touch Screens" explore pornography from the points of view of the participants, viewers and creators. Ranging from "blistering shoegazer psych-rock to hazy dream-pop" (Don Yates - KEXP) on "Touch Screens" Erik Blood again demonstrates his formidable skills as a songwriter and a producer.

Erik has recently completed work on Shabazz Palaces highly anticipated follow-up "Lese Majesty" - due out July 29th on Sub Pop, as well as a brand new LP from TheeSatisfaction due out later this year on SubPop. Erik is currently finalizing completion of another film score, as well cooking up another batch of his own material that he is currently previewing in live shows in the Seattle area.
OCnotes
OCnotes
OCnotes, AKA Otis Calvin III, is a Seattle-based producer/singer/MC/multi/multi/instrumentalist (playing 12 instruments at last count)—in the past described in local press as a cross between Madlib and Mos Def, a reductive tag (you'd probably want to add equal parts Daedelus, Dungeon Family and Cody ChesnuTT to get closer to the fact) but a handy enough reference. His solo work and collaborations with such Seattle vibe-setters as THEESatisfaction have made him a darling of the Emerald City's most forward-listening.
