David Walega

David Walega, Seattle-based fine art photographer & photojournalist, has been documenting the growth and changes in the Seattle music community since 1994. 'Circa '96' is a compelling body of images documenting David's ability to capture the exclusive and hyper-enthusiastic relationship between the performers and their under age fans; a group who's development often relies on the self-expression that only all ages shows can provide them. By David turning the camera from the bands to the fans, he demonstrates how live music can reshape reality for today's youth (regardless of culture or economic background) through channeling the rage and frustration of the individual, into a whole, cathartic experience.
