Hilltop Hoods
Hilltop Hoods
This was evident from the reaction to the crew’s last album ‘State of the Art’, the biggest selling Australian Hip Hop album of all
time. Not only did it hold the number one spot for two weeks, it
won two ARIA’s and turned out to be a multi-platinum monster.
MC’s Suffa and Pressure continued their art of weaving tales of
everyday life into razor sharp musicality, while DJ Debris remained
the backbone of the band’s formidable live show. An album so big,
so fresh and so well executed ‘State of the Art’ transformed the
perception of Hip Hop in Australia.
Hilltop Hoods have proven they can take their sound to the far
corners of the globe. They’ve toured everywhere from Switzerland
to South Korea, appearing at such festivals as Glastonbury, Splendour In The Grass, Oxygen, Openair Frauenfeld, Splash Festival and
have spent years grinding out acclaimed headline tours.
Apart from their accomplishments on stage Hilltop Hoods have
also enjoyed success off stage with their own label, Golden Era
Records. An incubator for some of the country’s most exciting
artists (Vents/Briggs/Funkoars), Golden Era Records is widely
recognised as one of Australia’s finest Hip Hop labels. Apart from
the label, the Hoods continue to give back to the local scene
through the ‘Hilltop Hoods Initiative’, a grant that the Adelaide
trio established in 2005 to support up and coming Hip Hop artists
around Australia.
The group continue to move forward at light speed without ever
looking back, and their new album ‘Drinking From the Sun’ is no
exception. The first single ‘I Love It’ Feat. Sia was released to
widespread acclaim in Australia reaching triple platinum status.
This song, alongside the second single, 'Speaking In Tongues'
Feat. Chali 2na (Jurassic 5) are the first tastes of an album three
years in the crafting.
Hilltop Hoods joined Eminem on his Australian tour and
embarked on the national Big Day Out festival tour (one of
Australia’s biggest festivals) preluding their 6th studio album and
secured the cover of the March issue of Australian Rolling Stone.
All this before 'Drinking From The Sun' reached the No.1 chart
position on the Australian ARIA charts for 2 weeks running and
reaching platinum status within a week.
Now after years of working independently to share their music in
the States the Hoods will be ‘officially’ unleashing themselves on
the American market after recently signing a deal with Fontana
(USA). ‘Drinking from the Sun’ will be released in U.S. through
Golden Era Records/Fontana Tuesday May 29th.
The Bad Tenants
The Bad Tenants
The Bad Tenants are three guys that write dope raps and play instruments and sing blues and spin vinyl and combine it all for a sound that’s soulful and unique.
The live show is memorable. See it for yourself and you’ll understand.
Seattle, by way of Bellingham, Wa.

The multi-talented members of The Bad Tenants include Casey G. (Casey Grant Gainor), Good Matters (Matt Goodwin) and DJ Idlhnds (Gabriel Ghirardini).

Fresh off the September 2013 release of their new EP "Eloquent Scoundrels Vol. 2," the group continues to push its way onto the Pacific Northwest music scene like men on a mission. Their drive and energy has brought them an array of crowds covering thousands of miles in each direction.

Collectively, the group has shared stages with the likes of Eligh and Amplive, Grieves and Budo, Slug of Atmosphere, Abstract Rude, GZA, Prof, Open Mike Eagle, Fly Moon Royalty and Grynch.

The Bad Tenants started with the neighborhood in Bellingham, but have their sights set on much more, having recently made the move to the Emerald City. Seattle, get ready.
