The Pack A.D.
The Pack A.D.
Destruction and melody, acid wit and bruising vocals—this is the Pack A.D. Singer/guitarist Becky Black and drummer Maya Miller have made a sound so gigantic, so fierce and raw and empowering, that it’s easy to forget there are just two people behind this brilliant, carefully constructed havoc. Shredding and pounding their way through every song, the Pack A.D. swallows you whole inside their fearless Franken-blend of heavy psych-pop/garage-rock. Their lyrics are wild nests, human and complex: darkly funny disclosures about depression; indictments of digital excess; grief-stricken fire bombs; sly crusades against stupidity. The Pack A.D. is also one of Canada’s “must-see” bands. Be it a massive stadium or the slightly seedy bar where everybody’s shoes stick to the carpet, the Pack A.D. have owned every spotlight and stolen every show they’ve ever played. Becky and Maya are relentless and riveting, playing with the kind of fuck-off freedom that makes everybody in the room vicarious rock stars, even if it’s just for the night.
GravelRoad
GravelRoad
GravelRoad is a Seattle band that blends the trance of North Mississippi Hill Country blues with the fuzz and power of heavy rock and roll. The band’s 6th full-length studio album, Capitol Hill Country Blues, was released in the fall of 2016 on LP, CD, and cassette. The band continues to bring its high energy shows to venues & festivals throughout the US and Europe in support of the new record and beyond.

GravelRoad’s mix of driving rhythms and heavy guitar sounds range from minute-long fits of angst to slow and methodical psychedelic tracks. “Rabbit Run” and “Rather Be Lonely” give followers a sense of the familiar from the veteran band. Conversely the band pushes boundaries on Capitol Hill Country Blues songs such as the Krautrock-inspired instrumental “Green Lungs” and the album’s finale “I Feel High”, a stunningly beautiful solo acoustic track.

Capitol Hill Country Blues was recorded and mixed by legendary engineer Jack Endino in late 2015 & early 2016. This follows work with Mr. Endino for the bands’ last full-length album, El Scuerpo (2014).

“It’s a little like what John Lee Hooker may have sounded like in Black Sabbath. And who wouldn’t want to hear that?” - Patrick Wells, Classic Rock Magazine

GravelRoad’s extensive discography includes the works of these two albums plus other substantial work with Knick Knack Records. Additional full-length releases Psychedelta (2012) and The Bloody Scalp of Burt Merlin (2013) join 7 inch vinyl releases Weavin’ (2015) and Pedernales (2013), recorded at Willie Nelson’s famous studio outside Austin, on the local label.

GravelRoad has also proven itself worthy of attention when they were hand-picked by T-Model Ford to be his backing band. They began to work with the self-proclaimed “Bad Man” in 2008 until his death at the age of 92 in 2013. This partnership thrived through 9 U.S. & international tours and 2 critically acclaimed albums released on Alive NaturalSound Records. 2010 saw the release of the all-acoustic The Ladies Man and in 2011 Taledragger, a mind-bending trip through electrified and psychedelic blues. T-Model Ford & GravelRoad were honored to play the All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival in 2010 in New York as a choice of the always amazing American Independent filmmaker Jim Jarmusch.

Music has given to GravelRoad. We wish to give back, over and over.
