Jupe Jupe
Jupe Jupe
Jupe Jupe creates dark and danceable pop music layered with crooning vocals, atmospheric synths, shivering guitars, and driving beats.

The Seattle quartet offers a collection of melancholy, hook-laden textures in its latest release, Lonely Creatures—10 hauntingly striking songs about isolation, fate, internal struggle, and technology gone awry. Each tune draws inspiration from electropop, post-punk, and ghostly Americana.

The band spent over two years crafting each song on Lonely Creatures before joining producer Matt Bayles at Red Room Studios in Seattle, Washington. A former member of Minus the Bear, Bayles has produced and mixed a number of seminal albums by Botch, Mastodon, Murder City Devils, Minus the Bear, Russian Circles, These Arms are Snakes, The Blood Brothers, and many more.

The Purrs
The Purrs
The Purrs are a Seattle psych-rock outfit who’ve made promises to each other and kept them to their audience. Existing for more than a decade, The Purrs are crushed by their day jobs, unlucky in love, soaked in whiskey, and renowned for their blistering live performances. Their music is made for the late hours: an after work visit to the bar, dollars crumpled in pocket from being clumped in a fist; the same formation of a fist that extends outward for their roaring guitar solos, and blues lyricism crossed with Thurston Moore pedal stomps.

The Purrs understand that personal battles are won with rock and roll, optimism comes from release, and that these stories are meant to be shared. They “grab a table in the back, and start throwing them down.” That’s not to say that they’re purely rabble-rousers. The Purrs engage in multiple harmony vocals (from Jima, also on bass, and Liz Herrin, also on guitars), which allows them to drift from aggressive to sultry, and lonely and down and out to unified and hopeful. The dual guitars (Jason Milne and Herrin) organically drift from punk to country to shoegaze, aided by a strong rhythm section (Dusty Hayes on drums). The Purrs brand of rock and roll devotionals are something that is never tiresome -- it's the weary reflection that comes with the night, before the new day.

The Purrs have a rich musical history, marked by appearances at Bumbershoot, Voodoo and MidPoint music festivals, weekend coast-to-coast jaunts to play CMJ, national tours, broken-down vans, a song featured on the HBO series Californication, heavy rotation on influential radio stations such as KEXP, and SIRIUS, and hundreds of gigs with such talents as A Place To Bury Strangers, The Wrens, Jesse Sykes, Holy Fuck, Film School, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Pearl Jam, and Okkervil River.
