BeatMatch is an all-ages beat battle featuring 16 music producers from the greater Seattle area competing head-to-head, in a bracketed tournament. Competitors will play their best beats for judges and a live audience, competing to win a cash prize, a performance at Summer Meltdown Festival, and the title of BeatMatch Champion.
The 3rd annual BeatMatch will take place at The Crocodile on Saturday, April 13, 2019.
BeatMatch exists to spotlight outstanding, rising, and undiscovered local talents and provide them with a stage and access to creative and professional opportunities. The competition also aims to inspire collaboration across communities of artists and support from the greater Seattle community for Seattle musicians.
Winners and alumni from the first two years of BeatMatch have gone on to perform at music festivals across the Northwest such as Capitol Hill Block Party, Upstream Music Fest, Bumbershoot, Sasquatch, and Summer Meltdown in addition to securing artist management and music distribution deals and releasing official remixes for major label artists such as GoldLink, AlunaGeorge, and Big Gigantic.
Submissions to compete open January 28 and close February 25 at 11:59pm. To be considered, producers can submit their best original battle beat online at Do206.com/BeatMatch. A panel of musicians will listen to each submission blindly and choose 16 competitors based solely on their music.
