For the past 31 years, music fans far and wide have recognized The Crocodile as Seattle’s essential live music institution. From modest roots as the home base for an upstart grunge scene, our stage now hosts the world’s breaking new talent. The “New” Croc has evolved into a multi-venue facility spanning over three stories and 30,000 square feet. Boasting a variety of spaces to enjoy live music, including the 750-capacity Crocodile showroom, the 300-capacity Madame Lou's, a 100-seat theater called Here-After, the Here-After lobby lounge, Hotel Crocodile a 17-room hotel, and the Society bar.

 

Cook / Line Cook


The Role

This Line Cook role has plenty of responsibility, creativity, and room to grow. Fast-paced atmosphere in a fun and friendly kitchen attached to a legendary music venue. We can't wait for you to join our close knit and long-standing team at The Croc!


Responsibilities.

  • Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies needed for service.

  • Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, slicing, mixing, and preparing sauces.

  • Cook food items by grilling, frying, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.

  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.

  • Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.

  • Performs inventory checks and labels all items opened or on line to guarantee freshness and product is rotated regularly.

  • Coordinating with others to ensure safety and high standard of quality and service are met.


Requirements.

  • Minimum of 6 months line cook experience in a professional kitchen.

  • Experience in sub shops/burger places that turn out high order volume a plus.

  • Grill experience is a must.

  • Upbeat, respectful, and comfortable during fast pace service.

  • Current food handlers card and other certification as required by federal/state/local law.

  • Motivated and dedicated to quality.

  • Effectively able to communicate respectfully with supervisor and coworkers.

  • Comfortable in a venue environment with audible live music.

  • Must be willing to work evening shifts until 2am.

  • Understand that shifts vary based on show attendance and volume.

  • Ability to follow recipes to ensure consistent food preparation.

Compensation.

  • Hourly $20-$23 per hour Based on experience

  •  Sick and Safe Time, accrued @ .025 hours per hour worked. Available for use after 90 days.

  • Free admission to any concert or event at The Crocodile venues and discount on food and beverages.

  • 40 hrs/week available, but our work hours and days are flexible, Part time okay.

Venue Security



Responsibilities

  • Prioritizing a positive guest experience.

  • Processing patrons at the door for entry by scanning tickets, checking ID’s, handing out wristbands, etc.

  • Enforcing venue policies with customer service in mind.

  • Keeping our guests and business safe and secure.

  • Working with bar and production staff to enforce all applicable state and federal laws.

  • Light venue setup and room conversions.


Requirements.

  • Motivated and aware of your surroundings (of course, following extensive training).

  • Excitement for the job!

  • Highly responsive to issues.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Comfortable enforcing policies through direct guest interaction.

  • Nightlife security training or willingness to attend nightlife training annually.

  • Interest in providing hospitality to artists and fans alike and comfortable in a venue environment with crowds and audible live music.

  • Must be willing to work evening shifts until 2am.

Compensation.

  • Salary range: $20-$23 per hour based on experience
